About Us

We seek to be a church that is both faithful to the scriptural texts and the cultural contexts. We want to live out the values we say we believe. In the Old Testament book Deuteronomy (6 and 8), God reminds His people, "When you get to the promised land, don't forget who your are." In the New Testament, the apostle Paul in I Corinthians 12:27, writes, "You are Christ's body-that's who your are! You must never forget this!"

Who we are is spelled out in our Vision Statement:

"To see people come to know Jesus Christ and together become passionate followers of Him."

That's our purpose. And the process is this:

The steps of faith that continue our journey together those of evaluating our faith and the culture around us; coming to grips with the needs of a changed and changing world; envisioning new generations coming to Christ; praying for the insight and loving power of engagement.

This is an absolutely exciting expectation for the next years of our Life together! It's simply seeing ourselves as containers of potent and powerful medicine that's meant to be poured out on the hurts and ills of our world...

Psalm 71:17-18

"O God, You have taught me from earliest childhood, and I have constantly told others about the wonderful things You do. Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Le me proclaim Your power to this new generation, Your mighty miracles to all who come after me."

Worship

At South Suburban, we believe that worship is a way of life, and not just a weekly event. But one important aspect of a believer's walk is their participation in communal worship. Serve

South Suburban Christian Church seeks to minister locally, regionally, and globally in practical ways. Click here for descriptions and opportunities for local, regional and global mission.
