For the believer, growing older is a spiritual journey in which faith, love, and hope abide, the Senior Adults Ministry (50+) of South Suburban Christian Church is committed to encouraging and affirming continued growth in wisdom and in faith, while also making available opportunities for fellowship and service to the congregation and to the community, and to providing loving support and assistance during times of need and change in the lives of our older adults and their families.
The Seasonings newsletter is published quarterly for our senior adult community. Contact the church office for the latest edition.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
A number of Senior Adult Sunday School classes meet on Sunday mornings throughout the year. Pick up a Groups & Classes brochure in the church foyer for the most recent offerings.
BROWN BAG BIBLE BUNCH
Join this women's Senior Adult Bible Study Group that meets on Wednesdays from 11;30am - 2:00pm. The group is called the Brown Bag Bible Bunch because the luncheon menu is whatever you bring in your own little (or big) brown bag! Prayer time and bible study begin at 12:30pm.
SENIOR ADULTS LUNCH AND MOVIE MATINEE
A big favorite at SSCC, our Lunch and Movie Matinee is generally held on the fourth Friday of each month. Volunteer hostesses / hosts, provide a simple but tasty lunch which is followed by a good movie and fresh popped popcorn, candy bars and soda pop. There’s a minimal charge for the afternoon.
Contact the church office for information regarding the above classes and other scheduled social activities and special events. We’re always open to suggestions which will help us better meet the wants and needs of our Senior Adults at South Suburban Christian Church, and the community.
Reservations for some events are required.
